Melodramatick

Melodramatick is an open-source framework for cultural-domain sites that support audience participation and repertoire discovery. Its core “tick” mechanism lets users log engagement with performing-arts events (e.g. attended/streamed), generating structured, reusable engagement data. A deployed instance, Operatick, currently catalogues 1,000+ operatic works.
With DisCouRSE support, I am delivering a cultural partner-facing pilot in which performance-event catalogues are ingested (from partner and/or external data sources) and published through a Melodramatick instance. Working with other dRTPs and partner dissemination channels, I will coordinate an engagement study to produce privacy-safe aggregate outputs and analysis of audience participation.
As an Associate DISKAH Fellow, I will use fellowship training and network engagement to develop this work as a real-world DRI use case: linking cultural event data with socio-economic and geospatial context data, and documenting reproducible workflows. A capstone workshop will guide dRTPs through the repeatable pilot template in a controlled training setting (from data ingestion to reporting), sharing methods, lessons learned, and leadership practice in coordination, governance, and communication.
