About the event

DISKAH will introduce its Fellows to a week-long training programme during the DH & RSE Summer School 2025 exploring the intersection of digital humanities and research software engineering. Training will focus on advancing digital skills to use state-of-the-art national Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) and High Performance Computing (HPC). The Summer School is co-organised by King’s College London, University of Cambridge and University of Edinburgh, in collaboration with Digital Skills in Arts and Humanities (DISKAH) network.

Venue

The summer school will take place at King’s College London. Information on how to get to the Strand Campus, as well as the venue of the training (Macadam 3.1 Innovative Learning Space) can be found here.


Travel and accommodation

Travel and accommodation for the Fellows is arranged by the DISKAH administrator. Please email g.lebreuilly@brighton.ac.uk if you have any questions.


Meals

Catering will be provided throughout the summer school. An evening reception is provided on Wednesday 2 July, with free drinks and nibbles.


Software, Hardware and Data

All Fellows will need to bring their own laptops to the training. You should have user rights to install software on the laptop. It will also be good to bring a sample of your dataset to have available during the workshop.


Photographic approval & Social media

During the summer school, we will be taking photos to document the training activity and promote it through our social media. If you do not want your photo to be taken, please let us know upon arrival at the summer school venue. If you want to promote the workshop through your social media, we will be using the hashtag #DISKAH through our social media:
